The standard of speaker remains high, and was raised even higher when the County Down sportswoman and high-seas adventurer Jackie Patton took to the stage on 18th Sept last. "Possibly the best event to date," said Commodore Steven Kirby. Jackie presented her audience with a heartfelt, at times 'lump-in-the throat' moving presentation of her journey from a school girl failure (her grammar school teacher's appraisal) to British Olympic trialist, to teacher to, Clipper yacht world race competitor, to the current chair of RYA-NI.
Remember ... 1st & 3rd Wednesday of Sept. Oct & Nov.
"We change tack" said MWS organiser Tom Jobling, "for the next Session when EABC favourite, LIAM KELLY takes to the stage - on 2nd Oct.
Once again, Liam will be challenging his audience when he asks; 'WHAT DID YOU DO, IN THE 60's?'. This popular Larne historian will no doubt draw a large audience again, so members, be warned, get down early for the soft seats, and a maybe wee libation too. Bar opens at 7:00 - Liam will take to the stage at 7:30.
