Environment & Sustainability

Here at East Antrim Boat Club we are keen to protect the future of water based activities by ensuring that we support the maritime environment in a sustainable manner. Check back here in the near future as we will be organizing a beach clean-up in the coming Spring. In the meantime, please see below for information on the charity Sea-Changers.

Sea-Changers is a UK charity, managed by a small team of volunteers who love the UK's seas, shores and wildlife. We give grants to UK marine charities and not for profit organisations for conservation and research projects. We work with businesses and individuals to raise funds via bespoke business fundraising partnerships, online giving, eBay auctions, sponsored events, and individual donations. We give out grants twice a year. To date we have given over 120 grants to UK based projects across the UK. We recognise that a range of actions and solutions are required in order to create the sea change that is needed, to ensure the future health and sustainability of oceans. The projects funded meet one or more of the following objectives:

To address the root causes of marine conservation threats and challenges in the UK.

To prevent or reduce negative impacts on UK coastal and marine environments and / or species.

To add to the body of knowledge about marine conservation threats and challenges in the UK.
