Summer Schemes 2024

RYA Youth Sailing Scheme Stages 1-4

Monday to Friday 9.30am- 4.30pm        

8- 16 year olds

Come along to enjoy a week of dinghy sailing. Suitable for beginners to sailing and those with previous experience. Kit and instruction will be provided.

We follow the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme syllabus and sailors will be able to achieve stages 1-4 dependent on ability over the course. Our expert instructors offer a safe environment for children to have fun, learn and challenge themselves.

Stage 1- An introduction to the parts of the boat and the basic principles of how to get a boat sailing

Stage 2- Develop the sailing skills needed to sail around a course tacking, gybing and controlling boat speed

Stage 3- Build your confidence and develop the skills needed to sail in different directions in moderate conditions

Stage 4- Learn how to sail a double-handed boat as a crew or helm and solve a variety of problems afloat

Cost: EABC Members £165, Non-members £200 per week

RYA Advanced Modules

Start Racing

A course for new sailors, wishing to start racing. Build your confidence and general racing knowledge by learning the skills needed to enter and compete in a race. Sailors must have achieved at least Stage 3 standard.

Club Racing

Perfect for racing at club level. Build on your boat handling, speed and develop strategic plans based on the conditions. 

Regional Racing

Develop the skills needed to adapt to racing at different venues and in more challenging conditions.

Cost: EABC Members £70, Non-members £85

There are no course dates at present for advanced modules

 For all courses please bring;

Sailing gear if you have it* (wetsuit, waterproofs, buoyancy aid, wetsuit boots or old trainers)

Sun-cream, peaked hat and warm hat.

Towel and swimwear

Warm coat in case of poor weather

Packed lunch (for all day courses)

Please notify training@eabc.club at time of booking if you do not have sailing kit and need to borrow any items for the week.

CANCELLATION:

In the event that a course must be cancelled, the club reserves the right to cancel your booking and refund your payment in full.
